Share your recycling bin!

We had two bins: one recycling bin and one for residual waste. After a while I figured out that the residual waste bin was only half full when it was emptied and the recycling bin had heaps of space left even if it was emptied every fortnight. After a call at the City Council I understood that I just need to buy plastic rubbish bags, I can put them at the street every week. For our family one bag every fortnight is fine. Envirofest at Mount Maunganui last Saturday

Here we are! Our first Change to Green stall at the Envirofest at the Mount! We had lots of fun presenting our beautiful bags and Happy Book Bags.     Many kids went in the draw to win a Happy Book Bag and our little Change to Green ambassador drew the winner. Congrats!

Baby steps and big waves…

Coming home frustrated from work feels not good. If it’s happening every day, one day it’s enough. That’s how I felt by writing letters for the Department of conservation to people who just didn’t want to stop cutting trees for the next big building project they had in mind. I felt it didn’t make sense at all to talk to people who just didn’t get how grateful we should be to get oxygen for free from trees. So I thought: If it doesn’t make sense to talk and write to adults, maybe I should talk to kids instead? Said, done....
